Failed Payments Before the Start of an Event
When a SEPA Direct Debit payment fails before the event start-date, we will cancel the ticket and release it back into the event ticket inventory for sale. An email notification is sent to both the ticket buyer and organizer and we encourage the ticket buyer to address the issue and register again. No further action is required from the organizer.
Failed Payments After the Start of an Event
When a SEPA Direct Debit payment fails after an event has begun, the buyer cannot settle the payment through Universe. An email is sent to both buyer and organizer encouraging them to settle the payment by alternate means. When a payment fails, the funds never reach the organizer's balance in Universe. By preventing SEPA transactions from being accepted within 7 days of an event start date, we try to prevent this case from occurring.
A buyer has up to 8 weeks to dispute a SEPA Direct Debit charge and request a “No Questions Asked” refund. Unlike credit cards, there is no dispute process. When a chargeback is made a debit will be made from your universe payments balance.
